Back at the end of October, I stopped by The 13th Step, which some of you might recognize as the former Telephone Bar & Grill, for Advertising Age’s Multi-City Happy Hour. Packed when I arrived, the crowd thinned out a bit once the open bar ended, allowing me the opportunity to catch up with attendees whom I know and make a few new connections. Speaking of Red Hook, Baked, which is up the street from Brooklyn Crab, offers an unmatched chocolate cupcake with caramel and sea salt. Finally got a chance to check out Brooklyn Crab. A great spot in the “slightly less harder than it used to be get to” neighborhood of Red Hook, it has a decent cocktail menu and offers quite a few types of crab. Now that the foodies have moved on, the wait is rather reasonable, especially if you show up a little after 2 PM on a Sunday.
