blip.tv kicked off the off-hours partying that is ad:tech New York with an event at Mocca Lounge on the outskirts of Manhattan’s Financial District neighborhood last night.  There were free drinks courtesy of sponsor Bulldog Gin, passed hor d’oeuvres (not sure who paid for those), plenty of digital media scenesters (I was going to use a different term, but I think MediaPost’s Kelly Samardak favors this one.  Kidding.  I know she doesn’t.), and gift bags with ice cream and Mocca Lounge gift certificates and some sort of tea.  (I can’t really remember since I gave mine to the bartender at The Odeon where I went to eat a late dinner with Pepsi We Inspire’s Nichelle Stephens after the open bar ended.  Would you believe that I have never been there before?)

[Update: According to the helpful press release I received from Sabrina Chapman Public Relations & Events, Petite Aqua/Peacock Gift bags were given to guests as they departed, and goodies included Popchips, Honest Tea, Moosewood Restaurant frozen dinner entree voucher, and a Mocca Lounge Gift Certificate.]

In addition to our hosts, blip.tv’s Mike Hudack and Dina Kaplan, I spied (from Nichelle’s and my perch in the corner by the door) conference organizer Emily Cavalier, The Roger Smith Hotel’s Brian Simpson, Magnify’s Billy Linker, PRNewser’s Joe Ciarallo, Contentinople’s Ryan Lawler, Launchsquad’s Miko Mercer, freelance writer Andrew Graham, Gawker Media’s Richard Blakeley, photographer Mo Pitz, Random Night Out’s Nick McGlynn, Wegener Edstrom’s Jeremy Bridgman, MoMA’s Julia Kaganskiy, Rocketboom’s Andrea Rosen, Fox News contributor Peter Feld, Ask Melissa’s Jennifer Wright, VaynerMedia’s Leora Israel, Carrot Creative’s Katy Kelley, Fashism’s Brooke Mooreland, Business Insider’s Joe Weisenthal and Dan Frommer, NYU Local’s Natan Edelsburg, New York Daily NewsDavina Anthony, and writer Ron Mwangaguhunga.  (If I missed you, I assure you that it’s not intentional and if you’d like to be included, please feel free to send me a note here.]
