[Editor’s Note: While iconoculture’s Sean Captain, blogger Sarah Merion, and I sampled Koreatown’s most well-known Korean-style fried chicken establishment, Agent16’s Jenean Chapman attended the Chartreuse/Lupec Tweetup and the Tasting at the Beam Cocktail Gallery at THOR on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.  This post is republished from her blog in its entirety.]

jeneanchapman:

Last night I ate drank and was merry! I started out at the  Chartreuse/LUPEC Tweetup @astorcenter where I sampled some amazing cocktails which were shaken and stirred by the ladies of LUPEC (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails ). My two drink tickets allowed me access to a sweet yet tart and chartreuse colored cocktail that was spiked with champagne-ah the elixir of life :-D.

My cohorts for the night were @devintrix and @pasakorn and we quickly imbibed and then headed to crif dogs for bacon wrapped dogs and cheese fries. This was quickly followed by a leisurely dessert at chikalicious. An amazing Japanese dessert bar in the East Village. All I have to say about this place is, if you haven’t been, go and go quickly. The Fromage Blanc Island “Cheese Cake” can only be described as a frothy dream of cheese and deliciousness wrapped in love.

I shared this lovely slice of heaving with Devin while Pas delved into a warm chocolate tart with pink pepporcorn ice cream. Need I say more?

Needless to say after the Chartreuse, hot dogs and dessert you would think we would have been satiated and ready to call it a night but not quite yet.

Next stop was the Tasting at The Beam Cocktail Gallery which was held in the Penthouse of THOR. Amazing panaromic views of downtown NYC greeted us along with a plethora of Beam Global spirits mixed into intoxicating cocktails. A bar of mixers, fruit, spice and other goodies covered the bar so that each person could make their own customized cocktail. I settled on a margarita with blackberries and jalapenos- AMAZING!

The night ended with a short cab ride home to my EV apt and a short trudge up 5 flights. It was great seeing @sweetblogomine, @pasakorn, @devintrix, @greenambassador  and my other non twitter friends Carlos, who does promotions for Pernod Ricard and Joe- the Dewars brand ambassador last night.
