Since I’m home early (I’m just as shocked as you are), how about I tell you a little about my second stop of the night, Google’s Sandbox 2009 at Skylight Studios in Manhattan’s TriBeCa neighborhood?
The event, which I arrived late to, was a showcase for Google products which might be of interest to advertising agencies. Many of them relate to helping agencies evaluate the performance of their online campaigns. Therefore, I won’t get into them. There was also a presentation about Google Wave, which I’m still not sure that I want, but because I was there, I’m supposed to be getting an invitation to use. The presentation involved a video created by a creative agency about the product’s capabilities and a “what if?” scenario where Google has the authors of the Declaration of Independence using it to draft that document. (Cheesy, yet slightly funny to me given my studies in college.)
There were, of course, all sorts of passed hors d’oeuvres, mixed drinks (including ones for every shade in Google’s name), and work stations set up (Some of which you’ll see in the photos.).
Joining me were freelancer Andrew Graham, Agent16’s Jenean Chapman, blogger Sarah Merion, Ketchum’s Sarah Yeaney, Alan Danzis, and Katharine Ricci, and Trapeze’s Andrew Cherwenka. If I missed you, I assure it that it’s only because I don’t have your card handy and you can e-mail me about that here.
