The Consortium List Recommends (Week of October 12)

Whether or not you have a three-day weekend thanks to Columbus Day, you’re probably wondering what to do next week.  Here are a few suggestions:

  • Green Drinks NYC: Tuesday night, 6 PM, Gospel Uptown (Green Drinks NYC hosts its first-ever environmental networking event with live music by Shawn Davis and the Stillprayze Music Group.)
  • Gary Vaynerchuk’s Crush It! Book Tour: Tuesday night, 7 PM, Borders (A complimentary champagne toast at Clo Wine bar will follow the signing.)
  • Drinking Club: Road to Perdition: Tuesday night, 7:30 PM, Perdition (Sean Captain’s weekly gathering moves indoors as we move into fall.)
  • An Evening of Wine & Cheese & Art & Fundraising!: Tuesday night, 7:30 PM, Eyelevel Galley (There will be art, wine, and some cheese for a donation of $10, which will be give to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.)
  • PRNewser Party: Wednesday night, 6 PM, SideBar (Public-relations professionals will be gathering at this Union Square watering hole to network and have a few drinks.)
  • Skits ‘N’ Tits: Wesnrsday night, 10:00 PM, Bowery Poetry Club (Burlesque, comedy, and music hosted by Jessica Delfino.)
  • Loving Day Benefit Concert: Friday night, 7 PM, Drom Lounge (Loving Day, an organization dedicated to “fighting racial prejudice through education and building the multicultural community”, will be hosting a benefit concert at the lounge.)
  • Annual Gowanus Artists Studio Tour: Saturday and Sunday afternoons, 1-6 PM, Various locations (Meet artists in their homes, studios, workshops, etc. all in the neighborhood of the Gowanus Canal.)
  • “Precious Things” a series by Amanda Dolan: Saturday night, 6:30 PM, Ward Nasse Gallery (A “diverse collection of [Dolan’s] latest inspirations including more mixed media art, doggie portraits, and even some sculpture work which [Dolan] is dubbing ‘post-modern flower pots.’”)
