The weather was near perfect for the Harlem Tea Party which Nichelle Stephens and I hosted at my apartment in Manhattan’s historic Hamilton Heights neighborhood (which I prefer to call West Harlem). And by near perfect, I mean that I would have preferred it to be about five degrees cooler.
There were mimosas, gin and tonics supplied by Amy and Michael Tiffany, freshly mixed ice tea, cucumber sandwiches, and homemade scones supplied by Nichelle, homemade potato salad provided by Kara Masi, and homemade jams from Anarchy in a Jar (Keeping in line with their company name, Laena McCarthy and her business partner somehow managed to break into my apartment for the party, cleverly getting past all three 120-year old doors to do so.)
Attendees also included Alexis Tirado, Franklin Rodriguez, Jenean Chapman, Lauren Lanchart, Matty Baker, Julian Young, and Julie Smith.
