The entrance to the bar

Amazingly crowded
Last night, I celebrated my 32nd birthday at 675 Bar in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. In addition to the drinks, guests enjoyed pizzas, dumplings, and bacon dipped in chocolate.
Given the length of the line to get in (Yes, there was a line. Why? I have no idea), a few of us popped over to Gaslight for some more drinks (I switched to water by that point) and some dancing (And, believe it or not, there was even a line to get into that bar).

As always, I’m sure there’ll be more to come during the week. Hope to see you at one of them!

The Apple Store in Manhattan’s Upper West Side neighborhood will be opening on Saturday, November 14, at 10 AM. Not sure if there will be anything festive about it just yet.

Fontana’s in Manhattan’s Chinatown neighborhood played host to the 2010 NYC Sex Blogger Calendar release party last night. There were burlesque performances by some of the sex bloggers from the calendar, including N, JZ Bich, Little Stormy, and Jezebel Express. (The show was was originally scheduled to be performed in the bar’s lower level, but it had to be moved due to a power outage there into the back of the bar on the main level.) In between the burlesque, Sinclair Sexsmith performed one of his poems, one that I have been fortunate to hear before at Comedy vs. Poetry organized by writer Cheryl Berke. Oh, there were also gift bags with sex toys, paddles, and other goodies, buttons which said “Diva,” “Slut,” and “Hung” (the one the male attendees preferred most) and, of course, prizes awarded by a raffle (We headed out to Vanessa’s Dumplings across the street for a late dinner and as we hadn’t entered, we didn’t stick around for this part. There, your editor had a weird confrontation with a hipster who seemed perturbed that I had walked straight up to the counter when, even though he was two feet from it, he had clearly arrived before me.)
Joining me at the party, for dinner afterwards, and for drinks at Lolita even after that, was Random Night’s Out Nick McGlynn, event organizer Emily Cavalier, and Ripple6’s Katie Morse.
